Burning Resistance

The composite structure provides Jindal MLC pipes with a much better burning resistance as compared to all other plastic pipes. It may reach up to Grade B1 of GB8624 - stipulations for wire & cable conduit plastic material.

Malleability                        

Uniquely, Jindal MLC pipes are completely malleable & can be easily bend by hands. They can bend down to a radius equivalent to 5 times the diameter of the pipe.

Permeability

The Aluminum core of Jindal MLC Pipes guarantees static resistance & light & oxygen tightness. It acts as a barrier against the entry of any contaminant.

UV Resistance

Jindal MLC Pipes are UV stabilized / UV resistant.

Comparison between Jindal composite pipes & Other Pipes

 

Jindal MLC pipes, due to inner and outer PE layers, are totally inert to most of the chemicals. In addition to all the chemicals to which PE pipes are totally inert resistant, Jindal pipes offer better chemical resistance than PE pipes for the chemicals such as fuel oils, where the PE pipes fail because of swelling. Jindal pipe is totally resistant to following chemicals at temperature up to 60 degree C:

Acids, Alcohol, Aldehyde, Ethylene Glycol, Bleach, corrosion inhibitors, Detergents, Foodstuff, Petrol/diesel/fuel oils, Vegetable/mineral oils.

Long Tern Hydrostatic Strength


Jindal MLC Pipes inherit all the properties of HDPE for chemical resistance. In addition to this, they also resist the swelling leading to very good Chemical Resistance for liquid hydrocarbons such as Diesel, Petrol, Kerosene & Fuels Oils due to the presence of Aluminum Layer in Jindal PE-AL-PE Pipes inner & outer layer of PE do not react chemically & guarantee safety & purity on its carrying media. Their corrosion resistance nature ensures that the foodstuff is not contaminated. Jindal multilayer composite Pipes are resistance to all alkalis, acids & salts up to 60 C.

Corrosion resistance

The inside and outside polyethylene are a kind of symmetrical and non-polar material with stable  characteristic. At normal temperature, it does not dissolve in any known solutions and is resistant against various kinds of acid, alkali and salt .

Hygiene

Jindal composite pipe is hygienic, toxic free, rust free and no growth of microorganism, thus avoiding contamination to water.

The reduction in basic strength with the rise in temperature is less as compared to other plastic pipes. Hence, Jindal piping system gives superior service at elevated temperatures up to 90 deg C. as compared to other conventional plastic pipes.

Thermal Expansion of Jindal PE-AL-PE pipe:

Jindal PE-AL-PE pipes has a low coefficient of linear expansion, similar to copper tubing, and is far superior to alternate plastic pipe (expansion/ contraction rate about 10% of plastic pipe). This eliminates the need of installation" offsets" and the concern about abrading pipe due to constant movement as a result of temperature changes. Straight runs are always attainable with Jindal multilayer composite pipe. Coefficient of Thermal Expansion for Jindal PE-AL-PE Pipe is: 25 x 10-6/0 K. Low expansion coefficient is due to tie layer which eliminates the differential expansion of plastic and metal.

Resistance to freezing:


In plumbing and Water supply applications Jindal composite can withstand multiple multiple cycles of freezing and thawing while under pressure without bursting upto -40C. Temperature. Thawing can be done using a hot air blowgun, hot water injection, and electric blanket or heating cable method. An open flame torch or electric current should not be used to thaw the pipe.

Thermal Insulation in Jindal MLC Pipes:

Jindal PE-AL-PE pipe is having Thermal conductivity of 0.43 Watt/mk. Jindal composite pipes provide an increased resistance to the onset of condensation or pipe sweating in a plumbing application. In case of hot water piping the insulation requirement is only 50% of the same required for conventional metal pipes.

Thermal Strength:

JINDAL Composite Pipes are having pressure rating of 15.0 Kg/Cm^2 at 23 C. and 11.0 Kg/Cm^2 at 60 C. JINDAL Composite piping system can safely be used for 6 Kg/Cm^2 pressure at 80 C. working temperature. Short term excursions to 95 C. will not affect the overall performance. Design life span for JINDAL Composite Piping System is in excess of 50 years.
